Is a Computer Program used to help detect and in most cases prevent Computer Viruses, Malware, and Spyware from infecting and compromising a computer system.

Types of current threats to systems are Backdoors, rootkits, trojan horses, worms, fraudtools, adware, spyware, browser hijackers, ransomware, keyloggers, BHO-browser helper objects.

Most Businesses would recommend having a Anti-Virus Program installed

Anti-Virus installed, updated to current version, updated regularly,  Virus Signature files updated, Active scan of Operating System should be enabled, and Scans of computer should be run daily, and log reports of scans should be saved daily.

What about Mac’s and Linux should they use Anti-Virus ?   YES, in a business environment where data security, and business/personal information could be put in jeopardy. Most Data and Financial institutions would recommend, if not require Anti-Virus be installed.

  1.  Stay current (latest version)
  2. Make sure subscription is up to date
  3. Set to Scan Computer Daily for a Full Scan, and keep log files
  4. Set Active scan on AV to run (this is good for catching Malware and Spyware)
